Celino Villanueva Jaramillo was born on July 25, 1896, and died on April 18, 2018, making him one of the few people to have lived in three different centuries: the 19th, 20th, and 21st. He gained notoriety for his advanced age, as it was said he may have lived up to 121 years. According to local records, Celino was born on July 25, 1896, in the town of Río Bueno in southern Chile, but his life was documented only starting in 1995 when he received a new identity card, which added some uncertainty about his exact age. Celino spent much of his life in humble conditions, and in his final years, he was cared for by Marta Ramírez, a neighbor who took him in when his home burned down, leaving him homeless. He spent his last days with her. Villanueva passed away on April 18, 2018, at the age of 121 years and 267 days.
